Tetra Tech provided a needs analysis, continuum of programming, predesign planning, design, and construction documents for this 70,000sf, 60-bed, secure care facility. The project involved extensive interaction with a legislatively appointed oversight committee, members of the Department of Public Works, senior officials of the Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families, and the Division of Youth Rehabilitative Services.
The facility includes two housing cluster consisting of three housing pods each. The heart of the facility consists of the educational components. The facility has a full school, which includes classrooms, technology center, library, specialty rooms for art, music and life skills training, and a full court gymnasium for interscholastic sporting events Outdoor athletic fields are also included. Other major program areas include a medical clinic, a kitchen/dining area, and Administrationistrative suite, lobby, intake processing, and receiving/warehouse. Project highlights include: full A/E services through construction, extensive interaction with government agencies and interactive technology workstations in educational area.
